CameraSuite Licensing

Note
Starting in August 2026, cameras supplied by STEMMER IMAGING will no longer ship with a pre-activated CameraSuite key. The licensing concept has been extended to support any GEV- or U3V-compliant camera, and the license-delivery process has been improved.

How do I activate my CameraSuite license?

Common Vision Blox CameraSuite is provided free of charge for all operating systems and works with any GigE Vision (GEV) or USB3 Vision (U3V) camera, including cameras not supplied by STEMMER IMAGING. Use the information below to request a CameraSuite license on the customer portal.

How do I deploy a CameraSuite license to my system?

After receiving an activation code, add it with the LicenseManager or retrieve and add it automatically with the CameraSuite deployment tool. For the LicenseManager steps, see LicenseManager deployment instructions.

  • Windows: Use collect_camsuite.exe from %CVB%Hardware\StemmerImaging\Utilities.
  • Linux: Use collect_camsuite from $CVB/bin.

I lost my CameraSuite activation code. Where can I retrieve it?

If you have already generated your license and need the key again, use the customer portal and provide the camera information again.

What information do I need for activation?

A CameraSuite license is independent of the operating system. It is tied to the camera's MAC address for GigE Vision cameras or to the serial number for USB3 Vision cameras; it is not bound to the computer hardware or a dongle. When requesting a license, provide:

  • GigE Vision: the camera's MAC address;
  • USB3 Vision: the camera's serial number.

Where do I find the camera MAC address?

The MAC address is printed directly on the camera. It is typically shown in a format such as 01-23-45-67-89-ab and consists of hexadecimal digits. If you cannot find it, contact our technical support team.

Where do I find the camera serial number?

Use one of the following methods to find the serial number:

  • Check the camera or its packaging. The serial number is a combination of letters and numbers, for example U500737.
  • Use the Isual tool included with CVB CameraSuite to list the serial numbers of all connected cameras. On Windows, the tool is located in %CVB%Hardware\StemmerImaging\Utilities.

If you cannot find the serial number on the camera or its packaging, and cannot obtain it with Isual, contact our technical support team.

I have multiple cameras to activate. How do I get the codes?

For larger orders, the customer portal may not be the most convenient way to obtain CameraSuite activation codes. Contact our technical support team for assistance.
