The Common Vision Blox Serial Number is a unique integer number that is issued whenever a customer purchases a Common Vision Blox Image Manager or Foundation Package license.
By convention, some of these numbers have been reserved for specific license types (for example, serial number 0 indicates the Common Vision Blox Camera Suite – see next section for details – and serial number 999 is always being used for time-limited Trial Licenses of Common Vision Blox), but generally these numbers are just being counted and no number is ever issued more than once (with the obvious exception of 0 and 999).
The source of a Common Vision Blox Serial Number can be one of the following:

Introduced in Common Vision Blox 2016 |
In Addition to the aforementioned integer number, a Common Vision Blox Serial Number has one or more of the following properties:
•Common Vision Blox Major Version
Starting with Common Vision Blox 2011, Common Vision Blox Serial Numbers will no longer have an unlimited version scope: A Serial Number issued once will be valid for all Common Vision Blox Releases with a matching Major Version number. For newer Major Versions a license upgrade may at some point be required.
•Foundation Package Feature Flag
The presence or absence of this flag decides whether or not the Common Vision Blox Foundation Package is licensed.
•Platform
As indicated in the list of license providers, not all license providers will be usable on all platforms.
•Expiry Date
Common Vision Blox Serial Numbers may be time-limited, which means they will cease to exist on a given date (currently only used for trial licenses).
The availability and the values of these flags may be verified using the CVB License Manager which will be presented in more detail further down this document.
